We are offering in this auction  an adorable early strung factory Vogue Ginny outfit from 1948-50 named Red Riding Hood.  This outfit was made by Vogue for the 8" Ginny and was offered for a few years with variations in the cape and also the dress.  This style dress was used in 1948-50 in white and also prints in a soft nylon.
Vogue used this same style dress under some of the early velvet coat sets too.  Dress is tagged with the ink spot tag (see photo).
Vogue made the cape during the late 1940's and early 1950's in a red wool? blend knit (lined), a satin (lined) and a flocked fabric.  We are offering the original outfit here with the red knit cape which was one of the earlier capes; all vintage Vogue with
no repro parts or pieces, no repairs
.  No stains or tears to any pieces.  Outfit does not appear to ever have been washed and never ironed.  This outfit you don't see offered often in this nice condition and would look adorable on a special doll.  Includes the hard to find true original factory Vogue issued basket too!
Outfit includes the tagged dress, matching and original panties with elastic waist and legs (believe the elastic may have been redone, not sure though still retains some stretch.  Dress is still a nice white and not  discolored,  except there may be a  slight very faint yellow to the edge of the panty legs and hard to really detect but want to mention just in case.  Pretty lace adorns the neckline and sleeves of the dress and has a thin narrow string that gathers at the neckline and ties; exactly the way it was made and offered by Vogue.   Red knit cape lined with what looks to be the same fabric as the dress (matches) is still in beautiful condition. No tears, repairs and no stains.  Only thing we see is that the ribbon tie on the cape has lightened from age which is so common with the dark color ribbons and fabrics Vogue used.  The ribbon gathers the cape at the neckline and ties.  Also included is the original basket that Vogue used with these outfits.  Vogue offered these small baskets with the RR Hood outfits and dressed dolls in a few different painted straw patterns.  Most baskets were close in style and size and marked Mexico as they came from their supplier.  The 1953 RR Hood doll also came with a red straw triangular style purse that they referred to as a basket too,  but the earlier outfits have been found with the small size marked basket as included here and original to this outfit being offered; rather hard to usually find.   We think most would be very pleased with this less common early strung Ginny outfit, so please take a look and see if you don't have a great doll that can show it off.
