We are offering a very pretty previously owned early strung Ginny wearing a favorite tagged Edie outfit issued in 1949-50, #8-4K from the Group K Afternoon Dresses & Hat series of dolls offered by Vogue.
Vogue issued Edie as a dressed doll that came in painted eye and early transitional sleep eye and also issued it as a boxed outfit, no doll, where a little owner could dress a favorite doll of hers that needed an outfit.
You don't see Edie offered that often that came in a variety of floral colors. Many love the variations of this outfit too (colors and style variations) that Vogue issued. This doll is wearing the eyelet trimmed at hemline yellow/green floral style that is generally very popular with all the ruffled eyelet trimming it. Few other colors and styles were offered and you can see some in the newest reference book by Barbara Clark entitled "The Colorful World of Ginny" available on Ebay. Do you love platinum blondes, the short cropped hair style (shorter in back and longer on sides with lots of waves and curls) Vogue offered on some dolls, and this adorable outfit, than she may be one to consider. Please view all the photos for a close look and see if she is something for you.
She wears her original complete Vogue yellow/green floral dress with black ribbon accent and eyelet ruffle at bottom, matching panties, bonnet and center snap oil cloth shoes and nice yellow rayon socks. This doll came in a variety of colors including blue, pink, green floral print and perhaps another color. We are offering the yellow/green version with white eyelet and black ribbon trim in this auction. She also came with two or 3 variations; one with a band of organdy dotted swiss instead of the eyelet ruffle trim and also with no trim but the same fabric at the bottom and a shadow print band. Ginny in her Edie yellow floral is a darling doll, ready to find a new special home where she can continue to be enjoyed; we think she is really a special doll and might be one for you to consider, so please take a look at all our photos.
Additional Details
You are bidding on the all factory vintage Vogue (no replica pieces or remakes, guaranteed) doll, "Edie" as pictured & described. She was offered in both painted eye and early sleep eye according to the Ginny reference books; but her outfit was also offered as a boxed outfit so you could dress a doll you chose as mentioned above. Our photos aren't the best as we are not professional and we have tried to take photos in different light settings to show how pretty she is in person (we think much prettier). Please note that colors may be slightly lighter or darker but if so, not significant.
Edie is marked Vogue Doll on her back and is hard plastic, strung, painted eye Ginny doll. No cracks, all fingers intact and no repairs other than restringing. Edie has the prettiest original platinum blonde factory wig, still retaining some of the original set and not restyled. Her hair is mostly platinum in color but there is a slight variation in color of a little light blonde too (see photo, a little hard to capture since not that noticeable in person). She has the typical stray hairs that one would expect for a doll of this age and from being stored so many years; even the most mint in box dolls have stray hairs if not redone; no restyling done on her. Any lines on Edie's face are stray hairs that the camera zooms in and not easy to see in person.
Her original and factory applied wig still retains nice fullness and is overall clean; shorter back and longer sides (typical early 1950's cropped style that Vogue offered in various outfits). Her lashes and brows are visible with no touch ups. Her lashes/brows are a nice visible color and sometimes hard to capture in some of our photos due to lighting and flash from camera. She has nice factory cheek coloring with no rubs, scrapes. She has no redo's, no replacements other than restringing as her original rubber band stringing dried and was very loose; now she can pose and be on display without worrying about her falling apart; acceptable to the majority of collectors.
Edie wears her beautiful floral 3-piece yellow/green floral outfit. Outfit consists of dress with eyelet ruffle at sleeves and hem, matching bonnet & floral panties. Her matching floral panties have perfect elastic in waist and legs, not redone. We see no stains or issues with her outfit and is tagged;
so frilly and a beautiful floral print. Her bonnet is a stand up wide brim with black ribbon tie; very popular style for little girls back in the early 1950's. No tears, no repairs, no stains, nice body to the fabric; hook eye back closure in very good condition (may have had it re-tacked as often they can come a little loose from handling and age), just mentioning in case. Edie carries her coordinating green purse and wears her original black oil cloth center snap shoes and white rayon socks that are in near mint/mint condition, no repairs and holding strong. Soles of shoes show some rubs to the fuzzy bottoms, otherwise shoes are really nice. A darling doll that you can feel confident about displaying and showing her off to friends and family. Amazing condition overall and one we think most would cherish. A wonderful treasure for the Ginny collector who seeks the less common and complete Vogue doll well dressed Ginny doll.
Sorry, stand shown not included
We have run out of the stands and supplier has discontinued some of the colors we like to include, hopefully at a later date we will get more.
Edie is another beautiful doll we are offering from our long time private collection, ready to display. Clean, bright and adorable strung Ginny (especially if you like the harder-to-find and very girly and sweet outfits) looking for a new home were she can be enjoyed. She is one special doll that you don't see offered and most would consider her an asset to their collection. If you love the color of her outfit, her beautiful lush blonde factory original mohair wig and overall look, than she may be one for you to add to your collection or give as a special gift to a loved one (she is gift worthy).
Please view all the photos for a close look at what we are offering in this auction & contact us with any questions in case we haven't covered it in our numerous photos and detailed description. Please bear in mind that these are vintage over 60 year old dolls that may have something in the making from the factory that does not detract or take away from the doll (nothing obvious) as these were made as play things and not one of a kind, as most collectors understand. We have tried to detail everything but we encourage questions to avoid any disappointment as she is being sold as pictured and described, final sale.
If you have been looking for a very pretty early strung Ginny than take a look at the photos and see if she appeals to you; she is not store new but overall wonderful.
We will be offering lots more from our collection and some friends and family, all in complete original outfits, some MIB with NO replica pieces or parts plus some dress me dolls too, so please check or auctions often and feel free to contact us .
Thanks for stopping by and please view our other auctions for some great vintage doll clothes, vintage doll accessories, hard plastic dolls & composition too. We'll be posting some special antique bisque dolls too, so please check our auctions often and we hope you enjoy our offerings

WE WANT HAPPY CUSTOMERS, SO ANY CONCERNS or QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT US, THANK YOU!
We may not be fully knowledgeable in all vintage collectibles & all types of dolls, but do have expertise in some areas. We strongly encourage questions and welcome any add'l details on an item that may be helpful to others too. We do detailed descriptions & offer lots of photos, but we count on the bidders/buyers to contact us with any concerns or request for additional details about a specific item being offered so that your experience is a positive one from start-to-finish.
There may be slight variations in the color shades of items as it is hard sometimes to capture the true color in the photos or scans, but if any, it would only be slight and most items are nicer than photos show. We are not professional photographers nor have vast knowledge in all the newest technology. Please contact us with questions in case we missed something important to you as "all sales are final, no returns" unless we have grossly misrepresented an item. Must be contacted immediately upon receipt to discuss. Please bear in mind that these are vintage items and made as play things, over 50 years old (most) and some older (antique) so there may be some flaws in the making as many things may have been hand done and/or machine made or a combination. We do our best to provide lots of photos and specific condition issues too.
