In this auction we are offering a very pretty early 1949-50 Vogue Strung 8" Ginny doll wearing her pretty garden party look outfit.  Ginny is hard plastic painted eye with visible brows and lashes, typical painted eye tone.  Factory wig is nice, but after being packed away so long, could use a little styling although it does still retain some of the original set.  Being mohair it has the typical stray hairs so any lines on face are stray hairs and not cracks, not marks.  She still presents nicely but we'll leave any hair fixing up to the new owner if they desire, we think she is fine.  She has no cracks or  splits, and comes to you in her special outfit from the Cinderella & Bridal Series of dolls & their outfits offered by Vogue during the 1949 year.  Many collectors refer to this as a Garden Party outfit because of the gorgeous flow of the dress, the 3 layers; soft tulle type material over taffeta which is then over a cotton lace trimmed attach long slip (see photos).  Dress is open all the way down the back and has hook and eye closure with no issues.  The dress is embellished with a rose and ribbon on dress and two on the hat with ribbon.   The hat is a net type  trimmed with the same edge trim as on the bottom of the gown.
Hat is not perfect
and may show a bit of aging after 50 plus years but still presents nicely (see photos for condition).  This outfit has so much flow and grace to the look.  Outfit is tagged (see photos) and there are no repairs, no holes  to dress or panties; no stains but one tiny very light beige spot on net on back of dress upon close scrutiny.    There may be a tiny hole or couple in the hat  where there shouldn't be but not easily seen (we took several photos so please check them out).  The ribbon tie goes thru the net hat which is the way this was issued.   If you look at the photos you can see the back was  fully open on the gown; makes it easy to put on and off a doll too.  There were home sewers that made  the outfits for Vogue during this time  and sometimes the sewing/put-together would be slightly different; we have only had a few and can't remember if all were open or some closed back.  This gown itself is  in very nice overall clean condition with no repairs.  The sleeves are made without any trim and have no sewn hem, just the way Vogue made it.    The blue tulle which is a silky type tiny weave  overlay has no holes & no repairs!   Panty elastic has relaxed in waist and legs and you may want to give them a rinse to freshen them.  Wonderful white oil cloth original Vogue shoes complete her look and the way they issued this particular bridesmaid.  You are bidding on the dressed doll as shown acquired from a small collection and ready to for a  new home.   This outfit generally came on a painted eye hard plastic or transitional early sleep eye Ginny; first issued was the painted eye.

She is not a perfect doll but clean and nice and all original as pictured.  Loved but not abused but also not a mint never touched doll.  She is very pretty and wants to go to a new home so please take a close look.
